We grind our beef in-house for our patties, from chuck and brisket steak. We bake our own buns, mix our own sauces and collect the freshest produce direct from the markets - including the Agria potatoes we hand cut for our chips. Taste the difference!

Who We Are

Restauranteurs for 16 years in Kāpiti-Horowhenua, we’ve been on a tasty journey to provide delicious, fun food for people of all ages. 

We opened our restaurant ‘Quarter Acre’ in 2010 which now operates as a private events venue, just down the road, also in Manakau. In 2018, we took over Soo’s Brown Acres and in the past 8 years we have morphed this venue from a low-key produce market into Manakau’s Famous – the quick
service eatery you know and love today!

We are pretty into doing things from scratch, like our hand cut chips – for which we buy in 10kg bags of Agria, then scrub, soak, cut into chips, fry once, then fry a second time. We bake our own burger buns and all our cakes and slices in house. We buy in chuck and brisket and grind it ourselves to make
our beef patties just how we like them. 

With a nod to the produce legacy of this location, we still maintain our feijoa and plum orchards, with their fruit featuring on our shelves when in season, and as flavour options for our real fruit ice creams for as long as they last. 

Manakau’s Famous is your go-to stop on State Highway 1 where we want you to have an awesome time and enjoy some great food!
